Journey Fitness + Wellness Newsletter - March 3, 2024
Spring is here!
Regardless of the date on the calendar, it feels like Spring! The sun is brighter and the air warmer, melting most of the snow. Wildlife is awakening after the slumber of winter. The squirrels have been out squirreling about. Canada geese and the song birds are returning. I saw my first robin last week. The ice on the lake has begun its thaw and the sap is running. All sure signs that spring has sprung!
The Lakefront Studio’s “Spring Into Summer” Class Schedule will help you stay focused on your health and wellness goals and maintain consistency in your practice as we transition through spring and move towards the hotter days of summer. Be sure to register early to secure your spot if planning to attend in-studio as space is limited to three people.
Private or semi-private class(es) can also be arranged to support you on your health and fitness journey. Semi-private classes are also a great way to connect with your family and friends this spring or summer to celebrate a soon-to-be bride, a birthday, special event, weekend or vacation, etc. I would be happy to help you plan a special practice to meet your and your guests needs. I am very happy to be returning again to the ABC Hall in Bolingbroke this spring to teach yoga, gentle Pilates and meditation classes. For more information and to register click here.
I am so very grateful that you join me, again and again, week after week, season to season, on the path to health and wellness. Om shanti shanti

Dietitians workacrossallareasoffood and nutrition to address the nutritional needs and challenges of the many varied and unique communities they serve. “Eating is not only nourishing for the body, but also for the mind.” - Thich Nhat Hanh, How to Eat
Here are two books you might like to join me in reading which fit in nicely with this month’s topics of nutrition and the brain (including the gut, the second brain or was it the first?).
“The Mind-Gut Connection: How the Hidden Conversation Within Our Bodies Impacts Our Mood, Our Choices, and Our Overall Health” by Emeran Mayer. I am finding it a fascinating read!
“The Wisdom of Your Body” by Hillary L. McBride. I love this quote from the book, “We do not think ourselves into new ways of living, we live ourselves into new ways of thinking.”
